Zack Schiavetta, born and raised in New York City, is an American composer, songwriter, musician, and producer born, raised, and based in New York City. They are a part of a community of musicians and artists that work and create between and outside of genres that stem back from their Antifolk roots at Sidewalk Cafe and Silent Barn. In their work, Zack via their Zack. project, seeks to understand the social relationships that bend and weave the world that we live in. Influenced by pop and folk music growing up, acts like George Harrison, The Beatles, Chris Weisman, Prisilca Ahn, Elaine Radigue, and Pete Seeger, Zack frequently records by themself, often entirely produced, mixed, and mastered by himself, to write songs that put a fine microscopic lens over the relationships between boss and worker, genders, fall and rise of friendships, school and student, poor and rich, unknown and known, politician and polity.
His records and show acumen speak to the experiences he has seen and felt. Records from The Demo Tapes EP, The Archimedean Point, the recently released Zack-The Extended Play, and singles like Take It Slow and Sticky Situation. The shows they have played is extensive---touring throughout the United States and sharing bills with the likes of Teenage Halloween, Jeffrey Lewis, Gustaf, and Mutual Benefit.
They are currently in the process of making an album on the American family.
